Herb Garden, Part 1
April has been working evenings a lot this week (she watches kids at the local YMCA), so I have been home alone. OMG, it is such a wonderful break away from everyone! Anyway, I decided to plant a Mason Jar herb garden for the dining room wall. I work on it a little every night while blasting my Google Hub listening to classic rock. And truth be told, I dance around a lot. Seriously, my legs have been very sore this week, yet I keep dancing. Back to the point...so here is my progress as of yesterday.
Jars organized, seeds planted, label signs done. Then very late last night, I decided to make the actual jar labels. I bought chalkboard spray paint to use. I sprayed a little label area on each jar to write which herb is in there.
My original plan was to cut a 6' piece of poplar to 3 - 2' pieces and hang 5 jars on each piece. That didn't go well with screwing things into the wood. So today, I bought a piece of lattice. I will be staining it to match the other wood in the house. Then, I'll screw either mug hooks or drawer knobs into the lattice for the jars to hang from. I'm still undecided on which. I'm about to start staining.
Wish me luck!
